Cara joined WPDE in October of 2010 as the 7/11 Producer. Cara is a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science/Pre-Law.
UPDATE: FIREFIGHTERS CONDITIONS
Two NC firefighters hurt in a crash on Highway 501 Saturday on their way to a fire in Horry County are still hospitalized, but are conscious and alert.
Jerry Meares is at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, suffering c-spine fractures and serious cuts to his left shoulder and head. Ashleigh Wilson has been transferred to Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia for further treatment and surgery for the head trauma that she received in the accident.
The water tanker overturned, shutting down Highway 501 for about an hour and a half between Gardner Lacy and West Perry Road Saturday afternoon.
The fire they were helping fight has been contained at almost 200 acres.
