Beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday May 10, Darlington County officials ask all residents to refrain from outdoor burning. The ban is in place because of dry conditions and the lack of rain expected.

Officials also say an increased population is causing a strain on resources. The ban ends at 8 a.m Sunday May 13.

If you have any questions, call Darlington County Fire District at (843) 339-9098 or the South Carolina Forestry Burn notification line at (800) 986-3742.
