MYRTLE BEACH -- Timothy Wayne Haley, of Alabama, pleaded guilty Monday to Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill.
Haley and his co-defendant, Bruce Olen Underwood, were scheduled to start trial for the Murder of George Allen Pennell and Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill for the beating of Timothy Regimball.
On February 19, 2009, Pennell and Regimball were found badly beaten at a campsite they shared off Highway 15 and Boundary Street in Myrtle Beach. Pernell was pronounced dead at the scene. Regimball was taken to the hospital with a fractured skull and broken ribs.
Police say Haley and Underwood lived in a campsite near the victims.
Haley admitted Monday to beating Regimball and denied any part in hitting Pennell.
