(AP) -- Tuesday morning, Horry County council members held a special executive session to interview candidates for the county's administrator position.
Last November, members voted 10 to 2 to release the county's former administrator, John Weaver, from his contract five months early.
Since then, Steve Gosnell has worked as interim county administrator.
According to county spokesperson Lisa Bourcier, no staff was allowed in the executive session, and once the council narrows the field of candidates, she can publicly announce who is being considered.
It is not known when that announcement is expected.
