Horry County Fire Rescue and SC Forestry have contained a brush fire on Tuckahoe Road. The Forestry Commission says the fire was intentionally set.

A resident called it in about 6:45 p.m.

Scott Hawkins from Forestry says the fire is 50 percent contained as of 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

Assistant Battalion Chief Justin Gibbins with Horry County Fire Rescue says the fire is four acres. He adds crews were plowing a perimeter around the fire before the winds picked up around 8:30 p.m.

Battalion Chief Jim Walker says homes in the area are not threatened.

Hawkins says the majority of the fuel for this fire is part of the Carolina Bays, an area filled with vegetation that is ideal for wildfire.
