A Florence teenager has been arrested, after Florence County Sheriff's Investigators said he broke into a home, robbed the residence and forcibly raped a victim inside early Monday morning.
Shaquille Barr, 17, is charged with 1st Degree Burglary and Criminal Sexual Conduct.
Investigators and a Forensics Unit linked Barr to the crimes after evidence collected at the scene was processed.
Under South Carolina Law, both Burglary and Criminal Sexual Conduct are Felonies. Burglary carries a sentence of no less than 15 years to life in prison. Criminal Sexual Conduct carries a sentence of up to 30 years in prison.
Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
Barr is being held at the Florence County Detention Center, where he may face a judge for an initial appearance Tuesday afternoon.
