The 2012 County Health Rankings are out, and on them you can find out which counties are the healthiest and which are the least healthy in the state and nation.
The rankings are an annual check-up, now in their third year, by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
To come up with the list, researchers looked into factors that affect people's health and how long they live, including education rates, income levels, and access to healthy foods, as well as access to medical care. This year's rankings include several new measures, such as how many fast food restaurants are in a county and levels of physical inactivity among residents.
In South Carolina, Beaufort County is the healthiest of the 46 counties. You can find more information on the South Carolina Rankings here.
