(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley identifies herself with the tea party movement that helped propel her to the state's top office in 2010 in a book that promotes her story on the national stage.
She says she and the tea party are "brothers and sisters in arms." But the book comes out when many state activists say they're highly disappointed.
Her national image, however, seems untarnished by in-state criticism. Haley recently campaigned for Mitt Romney in Pennsylvania. On Thursday, she'll be touting her book in Washington with Liz Cheney.
Her in-state book tour starts four days later in Charleston.
Tea Party Express co-founder Sal Russo says Haley's done an exceptional job. He dismisses complaints against Haley. Like local activists, he stresses the tea party movement is broad and divided.
