One person is dead from a multi-vehicle accident Saturday in Horry County. Four others were injured.

The crash occurred just before 1 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 501 and the Tanger Outlet stores. SC Highway Patrol says a tractor-trailer rear-ended an SUV and that vehicle crashed into a mini-van.

Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler says Jada Bennett, 4, of Myrtle Beach died from head trauma due to the wreck. Fowler adds another juvenile was transported by helicopter to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Three others were taken to local hospitals with injuries. The names of the accident victims have not been released.

No charges have been filed. The Highway Patrol's accident reconstruction team is investigating.

Troopers say both northbound lanes of 501 were blocked for several hours while the accident scene was investigated and cleared.
