Man shot four times able to travel to get help

Police say a 28-year-old man was shot near the intersection of Powers Street and Murchinson Street in Bennettsville around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Investigator Larry Turner says the man was hit at least four times and managed to walk or ride a bicycle a half a mile to a home on Jennings Street, where a friend lives, and asked the friend to call 911.

The victim then left on a bicycle. Police found him minutes later a few blocks away.

He was taken to Marlboro Park Hospital. The victim is expected to be ok.

Police are looking for Rudolph Datcher. The have a warrant for him for attempted murder.
