Circle Park Behavioral Health Services received a $2.1 million grant in the summer of 2010 for the Smoke Free Florence project.
While the grant has run out, it takes credit for getting Timmonsville, Quinby and the City of Florence to pass smoking bans.
"When you realize that we have been in really the tobacco belt of our country for people to understand that we're not trying to hurt tobacco that we're trying to have healthier people," said Richard Sale, Florence County Coalition for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention.
Smoke Free Florence says 28 churches adopted tobacco-free campuses and nearly 100 teens were trained in tobacco prevention.
