Nearly 250 people from North Myrtle Beach came for the Mayor's third annual Community Prayer Breakfast at the J. Bryan Floyd Community Center Tuesday morning.
The event brought members of different religious faiths together in order to reaffirm the city's dependence on God and prayer.
"I would like to see the Mayor's Community Prayer Breakfast become a regular, significant spring ceremony for generations to come in order to enhance and encourage prayer for our elected leadership, business community, and residents, particularly in challenging times," said North Myrtle Beach Mayor Marilyn Hatley.
"Each year, the community will come together to pray for abundance and well-being for the upcoming visitor season as well as in our daily lives," said Hatley.
The ceremony included prayer from the various religious leaders and gospel songs performed by the North Myrtle Beach Middle School Choir.
North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Marc Jordan said, "We are excited to partner with the city in continuing this event where people of many different faiths can come together, develop supportive relationships, and promote unity in North Myrtle Beach."
