Myrtle Beach High School students and staff were ordered to evacuate Monday morning because smoke was seen coming from a science room, according to Myrtle Beach Police Cpt. Dave Knipes.

The Myrtle Beach Fire Department responded to the school, located at 3302 Robert Grissom Parkway, around 7:45 a.m. When crews arrived, smoke was coming from one of the science labs.

Roads around the school are closed to traffic at this time as crews work to determine a cause.
