LONGS, S.C. (WPDE) - Horry County police are still searching for an attempted murder suspect after a shooting at 4 a.m. Sunday in Longs.
Police responded to a shooting call in the 600 block of Freemont Road near Williams Arcade.
When they got there, police found a man lying in a ditch next to the arcade bleeding from his left arm and torso. He was rushed to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and stabilized, according to a police report.
Police say they followed a trail of blood from the ditch to the crime scene, where they found the victim's shirt with a pool of blood next to it and a shell casing from a handgun. They also found a silver Ford expedition at the scene with a bullet hole in the rear hatch and the rear bumper was saturated in what appeared to be blood.
Police say they received a phone call from an anonymous person who told them two or three men assaulted the victim and they fled the scene in a white full size truck.
According to the police report, another witness said the victim came into the arcade several times during the night attempting to start fights with several other people, and that the victim was removed from the location just prior to closing down. The witness said the victim was outside fighting and heard several shots shortly after.
