The South Carolina Forestry Commission is investigating Wednesday's wildfire on Bazen Road in Florence County as arson.

SCFC law enforcement investigators determined the fire was ignited in three places.

The Forestry Commission was called to the fire at 5:16 p.m. and say the fire was contained by 7:56 p.m.

The fire burned 64 acres.

The Forestry Commission requested smoke warning signs be placed along Bazen Road overnight.

There was extremely poor visibility Thursday morning because of the smoke and morning fog. It says that caused a school bus driver to run the bus into a ditch. There were students on board but no one was hurt.

The fire remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call 1-800-92-ARSON.
