The South Carolina Forestry Commission says a fire they've been fighting all afternoon between the Brittons Neck and Jordanville communities is now contained.

The smoke showed up on our LIVE Doppler 15000 system in the NewsChannel 15 First Alert Weather Center.

Forestry spokesman Scott Hawkins said about 100 acres burned, mostly planted pines.

NewsChannel 15 Chief Meteorologist Ed Piotrowski says some smoke from that fire is possible in the Aynor area of Horry County.

We have had reports of smoke near the Grande Dunes area as well. We checked with Horry County Fire Rescue and there are no brush fires in Horry County at this time. The smoke is believed to be from the Marion County fire, according to HCFR spokesperson Leslie Yancey.
