Boy drowns in Myrtle Beach hotel pool

MYRTLE BEACH -- Myrtle Beach police say an 8-year-old Gaston, North Carolina boy died Friday after he went under water in a hotel swimming pool and drowned.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Williard says Jaylen Stephens was pronounced dead at the hospital at 11:48 a.m.

It happened at the indoor pool at Monterey Bay Suites on 68th Avenue North.
