Many businesses along the Grand Strand are counting on the money tourism will bring in, and the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber is targeting an audience that reaches across the country.
Commercials urging people to visit Myrtle Beach are hitting 75 television markets across the country, including places like Charlotte, New York and Washington D.C.
The commercial is part of the chamber's spring marketing campaign.
Chamber spokesperson Nora Battle said this campaign kicks of the tourism season.
"This campaign, which is something we've done in the past, will run about through April, and it will cost just over a million dollars," said Battle. "We'll highlight all of those travelers that we want to get in through that spring and Easter push."
Along with the spring marketing campaign, the chamber also launched it's "Think Myrtle Beach" campaign this week.
That campaign encourages travelers to live in the area, not just visit.
