The two largest golf management companies, Burroughs and Chapin Golf Management and Myrtle Beach National have now merged to become National Golf Management.

The company has vested interest in 23 golf courses along the Grand Strand. They hope to own 15 courses and operate 8 courses.

The new company is the 19th largest golf management company in the world.

"We understand that our customers have varying levels of threshold on pricing. That's why we think this merger is great. It gives us a variety of pricing tiers and a variety of amenities," says Bob Mauragas, new president of National Golf Management.

The company owns Pine Lakes Country Club, the area's first golf resort, which opened in 1927 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
