Members of the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce spent the day in Columbia Wednesday touring the statehouse and talking with lawmakers.

They met with Governor Nikki Haley to discuss the Georgetown Port, making sure it gets equal treatment to the other two ports in the state.

Chamber members believed it was a very productive day.

"It's always a great day. You never know what you're going to get when you sit in the House and it was a little quiet this morning. You wouldn't believe how many people have never actually seen their state government in action. So it's always a good exercise for those folks particularly," says Annette Medlin of the Georgetown Chamber.

The group also had lunch with state legislators.
