Conway police arrested a woman for driving her infant to the hospital drunk. They charged Melissa Dawn Garbade, 39, with Public Drunk, Cruelty to Children and Profanity in Public.
Police say were called to the Conway Medical Center Emergency Room about 7:12 p.m. Sunday. They say Garbade looked impaired, slurred her words and had droopy eyes. They say she was trying to leave with her infant child and was yelling at everyone in the lobby.
Police say she admitted to driving the child to the ER, but she didn't know where her car was.
The Department of Social Services was called and the baby was given to a relative.
Garbade was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
