MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) - A Pee Dee man and woman are dead in what officials are calling a murder suicide. Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown says the victims are Rebecca Broadwater, 43, and Bill Griffin, 62.
The two were found in Broadwater's home just outside the city limits of Bennettsville before noon Saturday.
The coroner pronounced the two dead at the scene. Brown says Broadwater is the murder victim. An autopsy performed Sunday at MUSC showed Broadwater died from a single gunshot wound. Brown adds Broadwater and Griffin are not related.
The Marlboro County Sheriff's Office is also investigating.
