Congressman James Clyburn (D-SC) will serve as the keynote speaker at a political symposium, Saturday morning.
The symposium is being hosted by Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in celebration of Black History Month.
Clyburn is expected to talk about a number of issues including recent changes to the Sixth Congressional District and the newly formed Seventh Congressional District.
Other speakers include Representative Terry Alexanader (D-Dist 59) and Senator Gerald Malloy (D-Dist 29).
Officials with the Florence County Branch of the NAACP will talk about the voting rights act.
Representatives from the Florence County Election Commission will address the upcoming primaries in June and the Presidential Election in November.
The political symposium starts at 10 a.m.
The church is located on 1305 East Cheves Street in Florence.
Lunch will be served.
