John Hogan, 36, of Texas is being tried at the Marlboro County Courthouse for the murder of Monesha Brown. The mother of four was missing for 49 days until her body was found with her throat slit in July of 2010.

Bennettsville Police say Brown was last seen with Hogan inside his pick up truck on June 4, 2010.

Her body was found in a wooded area off of Highway 38 South in Marlboro County.

Prosecutors with the Fourth Circuit Solicitor's Office called several witnesses before they rested their case Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday morning, Hogan's attorney will present the defense's case.

No word on if Hogan will testify in his own defense.

If convicted, he faces 20 years to life in prison.
