UPDATE
Around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, troopers say James Keith Ray ran a stop sign and hit a pine tree at the intersection of Francis Marion Road and Liberty Chapel Road in Florence County.
Florence County Coroner Bubba Matthews says Ray died from injuries suffered in the crash.
Highway Patrol says he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Troopers blocked one lane on Francis Marion Road at Liberty Chapel for about two hours while they investigated and cleaned up the wreckage.
