DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) - A brush fire in Darlington County briefly threatened some homes on Crosswinds Drive.

Darlington County Fire District firefighters were called to the scene around 11 a.m. Saturday.

Forestry Commission Spokesman Scott Hawkins says four acres of land burned. Within an hour crews contained the fire and it's now listed as controlled.

No homes were damaged.

Hawkins says the cause of the fire is an escaped debris burn.
