MYRTLE BEACH -- A homeless man is behind bars at J. Reuben Long detention center following a stabbing that happened Friday night in Myrtle Beach.
David Russell Jayroe, 30, was booked at J. Reuben Long Monday night at 11:08 p.m. His bond is set at $10,000 for an attempted murder charge, according to the jail's website.
He is also charged with petit or simple larceny under $2,000. His bond for that charge is $781.00.
The stabbing happened Friday night in the woods, a Myrtle Beach police report says.
The victim told officers he and Jayroe were fighting over a tobacco bag, when the victim was stabbed with an unknown object in the stomach.
The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
