Grand Strand leaders are trying to figure out how to better serve the homeless.

The Homeless Coalition met Tuesday to unify all the independent agencies that now help the homeless.

Myrtle Beach city council created a resolution in August to coordinate services and Tuesday's all-day meeting hoped to accomplish that.

"Funding sources are getting smaller and smaller, and so dealing with duplication of services is very important. And the issue of homeless, we're going to have more homeless here, not less," said Program Coordinator Mary Jeffcoat.

The goal was to leave the meeting with five objectives on the best way to coordinate services and the work will start from there.
