(AP) -- Citizens in Aiken are holding a prayer vigil to honor a slain officer.

The Aiken Public Safety Department says the public is invited to a vigil at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the agency's headquarters.

Master Cpl. Sandra Rogers died Saturday after she was shot while responding to a suspicious activity call. The 28-year police veteran was the second Aiken officer killed on duty in just over a month.

Joshua Tremaine Jones has been charged with murder in Rogers' death and has been denied bond. He was arrested Saturday after police said he killed his girlfriend in Augusta, Ga., then fatally shot Rogers.

Police found the body of 21-year-old Cayce Vice in her apartment Saturday. She had been shot in the head.
