Fight over bag of tobacco turns into stabbing

Myrtle Beach police are investigating a stabbing that happened Friday night after two men fought over a bag of tobacco.

Myrtle Beach and Horry County police officers were called out to a 799 Robert M. Grissom Parkway Friday night. The found a 47-year-old man with a stab wound to the stomach, according to a Myrtle Beach Police report.

The fight happened at a site nearby a pond and the woods, the report says. The victim told officers he and another man were fighting over a tobacco bag, when he was stabbed with an unknown object in the stomach.

The victim identified his attacker and was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Police are still investigating the case.
