HARTSVILLE -- A U.S. Marshals fugitive task force arrested Darius Montrez Ings, 20, shortly before noon Thursday at a department store in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
Hartsville police say Ings was arrested without incident.
Police had a warrant out for his arrest in connection with the shooting death of Hazel Herkin Knox on July 21st, 2011.
That day, police responded to 309 Cooley Street after receiving a 911 call for help.
Police found Knox, a man in his mid-fifties, bleeding on the ground behind his mobile home. He had been shot.
Knox later died at the hospital.
According to Hartsville Police Chief James Hudson, Ings is being held by the U.S. Marshals in Miami and is awaiting extradition to South Carolina.
Chief Hudson said to expect additional charges against Ings.
