NewsChannel 15 just learned that Chad Prosser, former Horry County Council Chairman and former director of the state's office of parks, recreation and tourism, is a candidate for South Carolina's newly formed 7th Congressional District.
Prosser says as head of PRT under Governor Mark Sanford he "took a no-nonsense approach to fiscal conservatism and public accountability."
Prosser says he not only saved taxpayer dollars - he helped small businesses create private sector jobs.
As for his 8 years on Horry County Council, Prosser said his "pro-growth strategy for the county supported businesses and encouraged economic development."
"The 7th Congressional district needs a proven conservative reformer in Washington who has the experience and the dedication to clean up the Beltway mess," said Prosser. "I have a track record in both the public and private sectors of tackling the tough issues head on, and I will bring that same tenacity to Washington, where I will fight to end the runaway spending train and repeal job-killing regulations."
