More than 200 homes were foreclosed on in Darlington County alone last year.

That's why state representative Robert Williams is encouraging people facing foreclosure to apply for assistance through SC HELP.

The U.S. Treasury Department gave South Carolina $300 million to help borrowers who are in danger of losing their homes.

"It's very important that we get this information out to the people in this county and this community because there are quite a few individuals who are just arbitrarily losing their homes when help is available," said Representative Williams.

If you're in danger of losing your home, you can apply for help with monthly payments, loan assistance and transition assistance.
