(AP) -- South Carolina Democrats plan to talk about jobs and opportunities as they respond to Gov. Nikki Haley's second State of the State address.

State Rep. Bakari Sellers of Denmark will give his party's response to the speech Wednesday night. Sellers says he wants to break through some the Republican rhetoric about cracking down on unemployment benefits and taxes that create division. He says it is more important to talk about jobs, education and fixing the state's faltering roads and bridges.

Haley will speak to a joint session of the Legislature at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
