Police release name of Socastee stolen vehicle suspect

Horry County police arrested a Myrtle Beach man for leading them on a chase through Socastee Tuesday.

Johnathan L. Myers, 36, is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Police searched for Myers for several hours after he failed to pull over for police, jumped out of the car and started running.

Myers was eventually taken into custody on Creon St. in Socastee Tuesday afternoon.

Police charged Myers with Grand Larceny $2,000 to $10,000, Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Resisting Arrest, Driving Under Suspension 3rd and Subsequent Offense.
