SOCASTEE -- Horry County police have called off the search for a man wanted for possession of a stolen vehicle.

The suspect failed to stop for police blue lights, and then jumped out of the car and started running.

Police searched in the area of Keith Street and Gwen Drive in Socastee, using a K-9 unit. The dogs tracked the man to Folly Road, where the track went cold.

Horry County police describe the suspect as a white male, about 5'9" tall, weighing about 150lbs, clean shaven, with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a red shirt with a camouflage coat and blue jeans.

Police say if you see the suspect, do not approach him, just call 911.
