MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) - Hundreds gathered at Springmaid Resort for a Tea Party event Sunday.

Senator Jim DeMint kicked off the event by welcoming them. He said that if the Tea Party doesn't unite they will lose to the Democrats, "We've got to get someone who understands that America is a bottom up country based on individual freedom and responsibility those principals are still working. And we can make this county better, than it's ever been before."

To date, the Tea Party has not endorsed any GOP presidential candidate.
