The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is bringing back "Mount Myrtle!"

A pile of sand was brought to the parking lots across from the Myrtle Beach Convention Center this week for the Republican presidential debate coming up on January 16.

Artists have begun sculpting the sand in preparation for the weeks events.

Sand sculptures depicting the candidates were constructed outside of the Myrtle Beach Convention Center for the Republican debate and outside the Palace Theater for the Democratic debate in 2008.

The design for this year's sculpture has not been released but as you can see from the picture, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is being featured.

The debate is on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
