Around 2:40 p.m. Monday, two cars hit head-on in the Conway-bound lanes of Highway 501 in front of Coastal Carolina University.

One person was trapped for a short time, and then taken to Conway Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, according to Catina Hipp, with the Conway Police Department.

Hipp says the cause is still under investigation, so it is unknown at this time if any charges will be filed.
