State troopers plan to be out full force protecting drivers on the roads this holiday weekend.

Troopers will patrol highways and set up checkpoints near New Years Eve celebrations to stop drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel.

"We'll be out full-force as we always are on the holidays. But this particular one, we'll be looking out for the impaired drivers because we know that will be our top priority to people at New Year's celebrations," says Lance Corporal Sonny Collins.

Collins asks if you see a drunk driver to alert highway patrol by dialing *HP or *47 to contact Highway Patrol.
