Troopers say on Christmas Eve, 58-year-old JC Thompson was struck and killed by a car on Grain Bend Road near Lake View.
They say Thompson had on dark clothing as he was walking in the road.
Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley says he's waiting on autopsy results to confirm Thompson's cause of death.
Highway Patrol's Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team or MAIT is looking into what caused the accident.
So far, no one has been charged in this incident.
