According to poll results released Monday by Clemson University on the 2012 presidential primary, Newt Gingrich maintains a strong lead in the Palmetto state.
Poll results show Gingrich ahead 38%, followed by Mitt Romney with 21% then Ron Paul with 10%.
The remaining candidates finished in the single digits.
The poll results also show most South Carolina voters are still not sure which Republican candidate to support.
The poll had a plus or minus 4.5% margin of error.
