Effingham man arrested for lewd act on a minor

The Florence County Sheriff's Office arrested Jose Guzman, 33, Thursday after deputies say he inappropriately touched a 6-year-old child.

Captain Mike Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff's Office says Guzman has been charged him with committing a lewd act upon a minor under the age of 16 years.

No additional details related to the arrest have been released.

Guzman is being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
