COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Gov. Nikki Haley and South Carolina's first family are inviting the public to enjoy holiday decorations at the Governor's Mansion.

The Haley family is welcoming guests for a Christmas Open House on Monday. This year marks the 30th year the Columbia Garden Club has decorated the mansion for Christmas.

The Haley children are decorating two trees with ice cream cones, and another large tree has ornaments from artists across the state. There are also gingerbread houses modeled after the Gervais Street bridge and the Columbia skyline and wreaths made by the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

The mansion also has a butterfly tree made by children from South Carolina and 30 other states. Haley's office says each of the 5,500 butterflies on the tree represents a soldier killed overseas.
