HORRY COUNTY -- Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a home on fire on Plantation Drive at 11:41 a.m. Friday. They say the home was 25 percent involved when they got there.
The people inside got out safely, but at least one person was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
The fire destroyed the garage and two cars.
The fire department says the woman in the home overheated a heating pad in the microwave and when it started smoking, she put it in the garage where it started a fire.
Horry County Fire Rescue spokeswoman Leslie Yancey reminds residents to always follow manufacturer's instructions on all products.
