State Representative Ted Vick, a Democrat from Chesterfield County is running for South Carolina's 7th Congressional District.
The new district includes the Grand Strand and most of the Pee Dee.
Vick tells NewsChannel 15, "I believe that duty calls, that duty's called me to serve my country. I believe and am dedicated to my family and family values of the Pee Dee, and I believe, I know I'm committed to doing the hard work of being a true statesman."
The only other Democrat who's announced their candidacy so far is Myrtle Beach attorney Parnell Diggs.
