(AP) -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley's book won't come out before the before the first-in-the-South presidential primary as planned.
Haley's publisher Sentinel/Penguin said on Tuesday that the memoir titled "Can't Is Not An Option" will be released on April 3. The book was supposed to go on sale Jan. 3, but the publisher doesn't want to compete with the Jan. 21 Republican presidential primary.
Haley is South Carolina's first woman governor. The daughter of immigrants from India was born in Bamberg.
She's described writing the memoir as therapeutic, saying people have wanted to know more about the challenges she faced growing up and entering politics.
Haley denied unproven allegations by two men of affairs in last year's GOP primary and won the office with 51 percent of the vote.
