Florence police say traffic wasn't as heavy as usual this Black Friday. But they've still stepped up patrols around the shopping areas.

They have a huge marquee on David McLeod Boulevard cautioning drivers of congestion and asking them to be careful.

Officers are stationed at busy parking lots, including around Magnolia Mall, to monitor traffic in an effort to prevent any fender benders.

Police ask that you drive the speed limit and wear your seat belt.

They say you will be ticketed this holiday weekend for any traffic violations.
