Some people decided to work off their Thanksgiving dinner before they even had their feast on Thursday.

Many runners and walkers took off for the Turkey Trot at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach.

They were able to choose between a one mile, 5K or 8K race, and kids followed them with a Tot Trot that was a lot of fun for children and their parents.

8 year old Ashley Whitfield told NewsChannel 15 was reluctant to run at first, "I didn't know why I was going to go do it, and then my dad said I could go do it, and then I was happy and then I did it."

Surfside Beach also hosted a Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning.
