Georgetown County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Carlos Butler, 32, of Sumter, on November 19 in connection with shots fired at 6235 Johnson Road.

Deputies say Butler got into an argument with someone outside a birthday party in a meeting hall about 6 p.m.. They say a few minutes later, Butler walked to the trunk of his vehicle, pulled out a gun and started firing toward a small group of people. They say he then took off in his car.

Deputies stopped Butler at the Mingo Exxon at the intersection of Highway 51 and County Line Road and arrested him.

They charged Butler with four 4 counts of Attempted Murder, Discharging a Firearm into a Dwelling, and Malicious Injury to Personal Property. Butler is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
